EVOLVE MODULE OVERVIEWS

Analytics

The greatest benefit Evolve provides lies in its tools that support effective business decisions. Typically, lower-end software relies on fixed analysis screens or reports to convey data, whereas "Fortune 500" systems provide advanced tools such as "cube analyses" to enable dynamic analysis to best support the decision at hand. Why can't smaller organizations benefit from the same valuable tools? With Evolve, you can.

Evolve's "Analytics" module provides a range of tools that can be run against General Ledger, Sales or Purchasing data. The screenshots at the bottom of this page are the best resource for assessing the capabilities, but the types of tools provided are:

Trend Analysis The Trend Analysis views enable you to slice and dice data by a variety of totalling levels (up to three levels - eg. Customer/Sales Rep/Item) and to select a variety of report bases (Quantity or Dollars, base on Quotes or Orders or Shipments or Invoices). A flexible timescape can be selected (i.e. month, quarter, year) to generate the analysis for any period.
Matrix Analysis The Matrix Analysis tool allows you to assess data in a two-dimensional structure. Select the totalling basis for the rows (up to three levels) as well as the basis for the columns. For example, you may want to see data by Customer, with a column for each Item that the customer has purchased. Refer to the Matrix Analysis screenshot to understand this better, as it is difficult to describe using text!
Custom Analysis Evolve's Custom Analysis allows users to define an unlimited number of custom online views into data. For example, a user may create a Custom Analysis called "MTD-VS-LMTD", with column 1 defined to pull in current month numbers, column 2 defined to pull in last month's numbers, and column 3 defined to show the difference. See the Custom Analysis View and Custom Analysis Setup screenshots below to see this visually.

Again, each type of Analysis can be run against the General Ledger, Sales Data, or Purchasing Data for system-wide decision support.

NOTE: For highly customized analysis in a distributable format, review the features of the ExcelReports module.

Upon opening the Sales Trend screen, the user can define a number of options to execute a truly custom analysis. Change the totaling levels, change the period breakdown (month, quarter, etc.), change the data source (Quantity/Dollars). All online in real-time, with drill-down links to see the underlying data that makes up the numbers.

To further elaborate on the above screen, this variation shows the totaling levels changed to provide sales by Customer, broken down by Item within each one.

The matrix analysis tools can be used to assess data on multiple dimensions. Again, drill down on any value to see the source records.

The user-defined Custom Analysis tool enables the creation of real-time online analysis views, complete with formula columns and drill-down capabilities. The next screenshot shows the executed view.

Any custom analysis can be applied in real-time to see the data in the desired format.

As with other lists of data in the program, a single click will send the information to Excel for further analysis and charting.
